Our History
The Brussels Fertilizer Plant was originally established in 1963 by Canadian Industries Limited (CIL), with operations contracted out to Top-Notch Feeds. The facility specializes in selling both pre-bagged and pre-blended bulk fertilizers, receiving product deliveries by truck and rail from an adjacent line.
In 1973, CIL took back plant management, appointing Jim Knight as operations manager. Seven years later, in 1980, CIL entered into a joint venture with Dave and Jeanette Boyton. Dave ran the facility until December 18, 1988, when Merle and Rhonda Hoegy purchased his shares, forming Brussels Agromart Ltd. In 1998, the Agronomy Company of Canada (ACC) was formed, and ACC became Brussels Agromart’s joint venture partner, a partnership that continues today under Sollio Agriculture.
In the Fall of 2020, Steph Berlett purchased shares from Merle and Rhonda Hoegy, entering into partnership with Sollio Agriculture and continuing the legacy of growth and innovation at Brussels Agromart Ltd.
