The Merle & Rhonda Hoegy Scholarship is awarded annually to two students who are immediate family members of Brussels Agromart customers. To be eligible, applicants must have a high school diploma, be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary program, and demonstrate the qualities of hard work, a positive attitude, a passion for agriculture, and community involvement.

Our 2025 Recipients
In 2025, we are proud to present the Merle & Rhonda Hoegy Scholarship to two outstanding members of our community – Emily Bieman and Emma Peel. Emily is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph (entering her final year), and Emma is entering her third year at the University of Guelph to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture.
Both women exhibited examples of hard work, a passion and a history of agriculture, community involvement, and old-fashioned hard work. Brussels is proud to present the Merle & Rhonda Hoegy Scholarship to such outstanding members of our community.
